Russian billionaire Dmitry Itskov promises universal immortality by 2045.
Have you ever wished you could live forever? Well, soon you might be able to. Founded in 2011 by the Russian billionaire Dmitry Itskov, Initiative 2045 is an organisation aimed at ‘creating technologies enabling the transfer of an individual’s personality to a more advanced non-biological carrier, and extending life, including to the point of immortality.’ The organisation devotes ‘particular attention to enabling the fullest possible dialogue between the world’s major spiritual traditions, science and society.’ If the plan succeeds, by 2045 we will be able to transfer consciousness to artificial machines, allowing our minds to live beyond our bodies.
